Arduino Fire & Smoke Alarm Project — MQ-2 Gas + Flame Sensor with LCD & Buzzer (STEM / FYP)
A complete Arduino fire and smoke alarm: an MQ-2 gas/smoke sensor and a flame sensor watch the area, and the moment either detects danger the buzzer sounds and the LCD shows an alert — a genuinely useful, demo-ready safety project.
This project turns an Arduino Uno into a working fire and smoke detector. The MQ-2 sensor continuously reads smoke and combustible gas, while the flame sensor watches for the infrared signature of a fire. When either crosses the danger threshold, the Arduino triggers the buzzer alarm and prints a warning on the 16×2 LCD. It is one of the most impressive safety projects for exhibitions because the danger and the response are both obvious in seconds.
