MINI Smart Switch 16A — WiFi DIY Module with 2-Way Control (Tuya / Smart Life)
A 40mm smart switch module that hides inside your existing wall switch box and puts any light, fan or appliance on your phone — while the old switch still works by hand.
This is the honest way to make an existing house smart. You are not replacing switches or running new wiring — the module is small enough (about 41×41×20mm) to sit behind the switch plate that is already on the wall. Wire it in once and that circuit answers to the Smart Life / Tuya app, to Alexa and to Google Home, and still answers to the physical switch for anyone in the house who would rather just press it.
Key features
- 16A rated — handles lights, fans, water pumps and most household appliances
- Two-way (2-gang travel) support via the S1/S2 terminals — works with existing two-way staircase switching
- The manual switch keeps working — app control is added, not substituted
- No hub required — connects straight to 2.4GHz WiFi
- Works with Alexa and Google Home for voice control
- Timers, countdowns and schedules in the app — set the corridor light to come on at sunset
- Terminals (as marked on the unit): L-Out, L-In, N-In, N-Out, S1, S2
- Supply: AC 100–240V, 50/60Hz — marked MINI Smart Switch on the casing
- Maximum load: 16A — roughly 3500W at 220V
- WiFi: 2.4GHz 802.11 b/g/n only (it will not join a 5GHz network)
- Size: about 41×41×20mm — fits behind a standard switch plate
- Certification: CE, RoHS
Where it makes sense
Staircase and corridor lights you want on a schedule, a water pump you would rather not walk out to, outdoor and gate lights, and any switch that is awkward to reach. It is also the right choice in a rented place, because nothing visible changes — the module comes out with you.
How it compares to our non-WiFi options
This one needs a working router and a Smart Life account. If you want automation that keeps running during an internet outage with nothing to configure, our 220V motion and day/night sensors do that instead — we compare the two approaches in Smart Home Automation in Pakistan Without Wi-Fi. Plenty of houses end up using both: sensors on the lights nobody thinks about, WiFi on the things worth controlling from your phone.
⚠ Installs inside a 220V switch box. Have an electrician fit it unless you are genuinely comfortable with mains wiring.
